Who Dares Defame The Best Of Humankind?!
“Those who hate Muslims and fear their progress—and thus fear the spread of Islam—are genuinely keen on defaming Islam and Muslims. But they do so through living examples, not by defaming a figure they see as belonging to the past. These attempts, regardless of their evil nature, hide behind a big lie.”
“Do you covet [the hope, O believers], that they would believe for you while a party of them used to hear the words of Allah and then distort the Torah after they had understood it while they were knowing?” — Quran 2:75
Understanding the Motives Behind Defaming Islam
The worldwide furor triggered by movies or media defaming Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has a clear origin, reason, and consequences. To fully understand these, we must first examine attempts to “defame Islam” and the Prophet.
The primary aim is not to tarnish the Prophet or Islam itself. Nor is it truly to harm Muslims’ spiritual connection. Instead, the objective is to provoke anger among Muslims and show the world a distorted image: “angry, barbaric, irrational people.”
Those who fear Muslim progress see this as a powerful tool to slow the spread of Islam. By provoking a reaction, they manipulate perception, making global audiences fear conversion to Islam or engagement with Muslims.
The Danger of Impulsive Reactions
Reacting impulsively—burning buildings, harming innocents, or engaging in uncontrolled protests—fulfills the exact aim of these malicious attempts.
History teaches us that such attacks are nothing new. From the time of the Prophet’s mission, he faced mockery, insults, and slander—even from those closest to him. He was called a madman, a poet, a magician, a sorcerer—but did the early Muslim community take to the streets to destroy property or harm others? No. The Prophet didn’t need defense—nor does Islam.
How to Respond Wisely
The solution is wisdom and strategic action:
- Express anger thoughtfully: Use official statements, conferences, or well-organized demonstrations to convey your position without causing chaos.
- Show the true image of Islam: Utilize strong media channels to educate the world about the Prophet’s character, Islam’s core values, and the peaceful nature of the faith.
- Understand the tactics of adversaries: Those who manipulate perceptions do not fear anger—they seek it. Counter their methods with knowledge, calm, and strategy.
Remember: Anger Is Not Enough
The enemies of Islam don’t fear our anger—they seek it. Wise, proactive, and practical responses are what preserve the dignity of the Muslim Ummah and protect Islam’s image in the world.
Stay blessed. See you next month, InshaAllah.
