Are you pleased with your achievements, lifestyle, convictions, career, beliefs and character? Absolute state of contentment over all the above is a difficult matter- but is surely achievable. How so?
People invariably want to maintain the kind of perfect personality that earns them the satisfaction of others and that of Almighty Allah, otherwise they remain entrapped in a personal struggle the eats up much of their energy and hinders their spiritual tranquility.
A practical outlook
Such status involves much questioning and bewilderment and requires a great deal of self-trust as well as trust in Allah’s wisdom and mercy alike.
You need to rest assured that what Allah has ordained is for your best so you need not to tire your mind trying to figure out why the course of your life took this down turn or that. You should also try not to tie your heart to lofty goals and very prolonged plans- still you should aim high, just do not tie your heart and soul to what’s not in your hand.
Similarly you need to know that whatever wrong you slipped into would be forgiven if you gave up and returned to Allah; i.e. “repented”.
Three core solutions
These three situations, normally, are the core solution ending any spiritual dilemma trapping you and keeping you from living happily. They also play central role in how you see yourself and plan for your life.
1. Trust in Divine Wisdom. Rest your heart in the knowledge that what Allah ordains is for your good; avoid exhausting speculation over why things happened.
2. Detach from overextended plans. Aim high, but avoid binding your heart to outcomes beyond your control; this reduces constant anxiety and disappointment.
3. Sincere repentance (Tawbah). Give up the wrongs you committed, return to Allah — repentance cleanses and reopens the path forward.
Work on your heart
Work on your heart! It’s your compass, telling you where to go and which direction to head for. It also tells you how to adjust yourself and your life accordingly. Just keep it pure and establish the connection with it.
