One-Sided Conversation- Poetry

A one-sided conversation

I sustain and bring anew

Cloaked in ignorance

A monologue is a regular offering as a due

Why then the complain of no serenity?

Why not a brief but clear understanding of His Magnanimity?

Five minutes of recollection

But a minute for reflection

“I’m trying”, is the objection

But off-set focus is the real projection

“Do you not hear?”, the mind questions out of fear

But four corners of a box is to what I am beginning to adhere

“Distracted you are”, I understand without a tear

“A base thing you will become”,  the mind urges, “with a blackened heart as a

smear.”

“Pay heed before your soul becomes undone.”

“Before you and the ground become forever one.”

Alas, I cling to hope from Him,

Resisting this despicable fight inside that I cannot bear

“Lord, only let me good do,

Else this life be about nothing much but ado.”
