Do not stretch yourself thin in fulfilling any kind of deeds, let them worldly, by which you seek success, or related to worship, through which you seek the eternal paradise of Allah… Almighty Allah says; “Ta Ha. We did not send down the Qur’an to you to make you miserable,” – {Quran: 20:1} And in another instance in the Quran, Allah (SWT) also warned against making things difficult, even when it comes to acts of worship, “Allah desires ease for you; He does not desire difficulty for you.” – {Quran 2:185} Moderation is key to fulfillment and efficient pursuit of achieving optimum goals. Likewise making things difficult doesn’t render any good results whatsoever. Lady A’isha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came when a woman was with her. He asked, “Who is this?” She replied, “So-and-so,” and told him about the amount she prayed. He said, “Stop! You must only do what you are able. By Allah, Allah does not grow weary [of giving rewards] as you grow weary, and the deen He likes best is the one in which there is constancy.” – [Agreed upon] Do not stretch yourself thin in fulfilling any kind of deeds, let them worldly, by which you seek success, or related to worship, through which you seek the eternal paradise of Allah. Be Moderate. Moderation is key to success, in this world and the other. May Allah bless your pursuit and striving for noble success- Amen.
