The Muslim Tribune is a quiet space for reflection, truth and spiritual connection

I Whisper My Prayers

I whisper my prayers to Thee and look around

Worshippers graceful, excelling in duties abound

I glance at my stance and lo, what do I behold?

Tattered prayers deserving of more

Standing shy, I wonder if need to compete for Thine Bountiful Attention

Or wouldst I harbor some jealousy in seeking a court with Thou

Fear might I lose chance of being with Thou

Scattering thoughts in my mind, I wonder of a pleasant way to Ask of Thou

I beseech, my love is feeble

It needs Nourishing from Thou

My Beloved, I plead

To Keep me Close to Thou

For devoid of Thine Presence, my life would be amiss

A creation’s heart need no further than this

An admirer of Thou, I pray to be and more

Bestow Thine Favour and Pardon my injustices beyond and afore
