Most French Muslims are looking for satisfactory medium between belonging to society and maintaining their faith- in order do so, they are willing to make a compromise. Both Muslims and French citizens deem irrelevant the dichotomy between private and public spheres: they are Muslims inside and outside, just like they are citizens at home and out in the streets.

The musical advancement our modern age currently enjoys owes much credit to the 9th century Muslims who set the milestone for the cultivation and advancement of music, using musical notation, composing musical pieces, and designing musical instruments, among other contributions.

It’s not a question of whether Muslims are capable of warding off and bashing the rampant anti-Islamic attitude they face in Non-Islamic communities- For Muslims are indeed equipped with all the tools required for that. They just need to decode and sort of decipher the morals and lessons inherent in their Deen (religion)- those that are intended for a superb integration into whichever communities they’d bump into or actually decide to dwell in.

Islam propagates that men and women are equal in the eyes of God, with equal rights and duties required from each. But we need to differentiate between the meaning of equality and similarity. Had man and woman been treated as similar, this would have caused much injustice to bother genders. For they weren’t created to be similar, but rather opposite in many ways with the purpose of completing one another, and to continue needing one another.

I was a youth counselor, participated in prayer groups, taught Bible Studies and attended church every Sunday. I even married a minister! When that marriage ended after ten years, I spent many years outside of the church, but I never stopped identifying as a Christian. God was very important to me and I believed in Him completely. I knew almost nothing about Islam and never in my wildest dreams thought that I might be interested in it for myself...
